This was my last session before the quarantine happened. I'm so glad we were able to do it about two weeks before the quarantine made everything crazy. I met these two adorable twin baby girls at their home in Santa Clara at the end of February. I haven't been had the opportunity to photograph twins since I took my nieces' photos so I was super excited to do this session. The older two sisters just loved their new little twin sisters. And the two year old was remarkably well behaved for her age, something nice to have to make my job a little easier. And oh boy, let me tell you: their mama is a rock star! She delivered her twins at home at 39 (and closer to 40!) weeks gestation. Wow! And you could never tell by how stunning she looks! Simply amazing!
One twin was more interested in sleeping than the other, but that's usually how it goes right? They're still both so cute! Do you see the crocheted pea pod? That was a prop that the mom pulled out and asked to use in the session. I was dying from how cute they were in it; two peas in a pod!

I met this mama to be in her Sunnyvale home just two days before she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy! Can you believe it? While I normally recommend having your maternity photos taken a little earlier in the pregnancy, sometimes things just don't work out and this time we cut it close and lucked out that her baby waited until we got the photos of mom before making his debut! This mama loves plants and that might be an understatement!! I was so glad that I could incorporate her collection of flowers and fauna to make her session a little more special. We also got dad and big sister to join in on the photo fun! Such a beautiful little family! P.S. Stay tuned for her son's newborn baby photos that will make you have baby fever!! I met Vani and her husband Chetan along with their oldest son Sid at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale (Sid is very happy to have a baby brother in August). Vani was about seven months pregnant (which btw is a great time to get maternity photos since you are not too tired yet but your belly still looks amazing). We had a lot of fun with many props that Vani had brought (she is Pinterest master/genius!): chalk board sign for custom messages, clothes line with baby outfits, baby shoes, and flower crown. She is amazing for being so creative and I'm glad we got to use them to make her session more special. P.S. They also brought a family friend along who filled in as our session assistant and he was amazingly helpful! Thanks guys! This little angel was my first baby of the year! Little Camila was due on Christmas but born a few days later and I came to play at the beginning of January. We even got her big brother to play for a short time but as a rambunctious two year old he wasn't super interested in staying put.
Camila is such a blessing to her family. She is a rainbow baby. Her family had to deal with quite a lot of hardships before she was born. Her mom said she wouldn't mind if I shared some of their story: Their first pregnancy was quite difficult as the mom suffered from hypermesis gravidarum, but it was worth it when their son was born. A while later they became pregnant again and although it wasn't expected so soon after the birth of their first child the little family was thrilled to have their family grow and to have the siblings close together. Shortly after they announced their pregnancy to their family they got devastating news about someone in their family. Camila's grandpa had been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal lung cancer. A few weeks later Camila's mom started feeling miscarriage symptoms and after having an ultrasound the doctor confirmed that the baby had passed. After recovering physically from the miscarriage Camila's family decided they weren't ready to actively try again for a baby as the loss was very painful but they would just wait to see what happened. Camila's mom became pregnant again soon after and the family was so happy to have this blessing. Shortly after finding out they were pregnant their family found out that grandpa was actually misdiagnosed with cancer: he actually had something less deadly called valley fever. Two miracles!! Camila's mom said "2018 was the greatest and worst year of our lives." I am so happy for them and that they let me capture these special moments and got to share their rainbow after the storm. |
