I met this little guy on his two week old birthday. We did photos with his parents and his maternal grandparents (who were in town to help out and meet their new grandson). This little guy was not super interested in sleeping but we got there in the end. I think babies must just be so excited for their photo debut because the moms of the babies I photograph frequently say that their baby usually sleeps around the time we do the session but the baby is usually awake at the beginning of their session. As long as they are content I will continue to take photos. I take my time and use all of my best soothing techniques and I can typically get the baby to sleep eventually. Check out my New Parent Email Guide if you want to learn some of these soothing techniques (the link is in the side bar or click the "Free Gift" link above)!
Baby was my very last baby to photograph before I had my third baby, so I was nearly 8 months pregnant! But this little guy was a dream to photograph so it helped me manage the session despite my big belly. He was born early and fast which was a surprise to his mama as this was her first baby, but he was perfectly sleepy during our session. We were able to incorporate several of his family's passions during this session. We were also able to create some beautiful lifestyle family portraits. Just love it!
My first baby of 2016, little Lila Eve, was indeed born on New Years Eve. We met her with her mom, dad and bigsister in her State College home for an extra special session. Her mother is a friend of mine so we decided to try something new: lifestyle portraits. A lifestyle session captures the baby and his or her family in styled yet natural poses within the baby's own environment, such as the nursery. We did photos with Lila's big sister first, then got in a few traditional poses on my beanbag, then back to the nursery with mom and dad. I was extra lucky to have the chance to photograph such gorgeous people that really made my first lifestyle session photos just stunning! Simple and breathtakingly beautiful!
