Meet the smallest baby I have photographed this year; this little guy weighed only about five pounds! He was so tiny!! He was also not very interested in sleeping but I used all my tricks and still got to fill the gallery with 25 beautiful portraits (this was a petite newborn session). I also included one photo here on the blog that shows just how tiny (and wide awake!) he was during our session.
I met this little guy at his Sunnyvale home. His mom loves neutrals and simplicity so that's what we delivered to his final gallery. Little Ben had to spend some time in the NICU after he was born so we didn't meet until he was already a month old. Luckily he seems to be doing great now and his family is happy to have him home.
Remember the mama who had her maternity photos taken just two days before she gave birth? Well here he is! We had a lot of fun with this session taken at his home in Sunnyvale. I recently got a new white romper as well as some new digital backdrops and I was lucky enough to be able to try them out during our mini newborn session together. Baby boy started the session awake but he was so comfy in the wool that he fell right asleep. And I even got a smile! What a good baby!
I met Vani and her husband Chetan along with their oldest son Sid at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale (Sid is very happy to have a baby brother in August). Vani was about seven months pregnant (which btw is a great time to get maternity photos since you are not too tired yet but your belly still looks amazing). We had a lot of fun with many props that Vani had brought (she is Pinterest master/genius!): chalk board sign for custom messages, clothes line with baby outfits, baby shoes, and flower crown. She is amazing for being so creative and I'm glad we got to use them to make her session more special. P.S. They also brought a family friend along who filled in as our session assistant and he was amazingly helpful! Thanks guys!
I met this little guy on his two week old birthday. We did photos with his parents and his maternal grandparents (who were in town to help out and meet their new grandson). This little guy was not super interested in sleeping but we got there in the end. I think babies must just be so excited for their photo debut because the moms of the babies I photograph frequently say that their baby usually sleeps around the time we do the session but the baby is usually awake at the beginning of their session. As long as they are content I will continue to take photos. I take my time and use all of my best soothing techniques and I can typically get the baby to sleep eventually. Check out my New Parent Email Guide if you want to learn some of these soothing techniques (the link is in the side bar or click the "Free Gift" link above)!
